Placing PCB Rule Definitions in Schematics
By including design directives in the schematic, design engineers can specify specific design constraints, ensuring that the schematic serves as the primary record of the design.
Any design changes are executed on the schematic side and then propagated to the PCB. This is particularly important in collaborative environments, especially when engineers are in different locations. Instead of constantly using emails or phone calls to communicate, defining constraints directly before layout and routing, and then pushing them to the PCB during synchronization, is easier and more accurate.
